Registration Process

Name Reservation

Apply via RUN for name ending with "Producer Company Limited". Objects must relate to primary produce.

MOA / AOA Drafting

Objects clause must specify produce handled (crops, dairy, fisheries etc.) and value-addition activities.

SPICe+ Filing

File SPICe+ with at least 10 member subscriber sheets and director consent forms.

COI & Post-Registration

Open bank account, complete GST and MSME registration, apply for FPO government support schemes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can a salaried person be a member of a Producer Company?

No. Membership is restricted to primary producers — persons engaged in an activity connected with primary produce (farming, fishing, handicrafts etc.).

What is Section 80P deduction for Producer Companies?

Under Section 80P(2)(e), income from collective disposal of labour or agricultural produce is deductible, reducing the tax burden significantly.

What government schemes are available?

SFAC equity grant, NABARD refinance, PM-FME scheme, and eNAM market linkage are available for registered FPOs/Producer Companies.

Can a Producer Company trade in non-agricultural goods?

The main objects must relate to primary produce. Some ancillary activities are permitted, but cannot be the dominant business.
