Frequently Asked Questions

Can a rejected name be resubmitted?

Yes. If rejected, we analyse the reason and suggest alternatives. You can resubmit with a different name — no additional government fee until SPICe+ filing.

What if my chosen name is similar to an existing trademark?

The ROC may reject names that are identical or similar to registered trademarks under the Trade Marks Act. We check the trademark registry before submitting.

What is SPICe+ and how does it link to RUN?

SPICe+ is the integrated MCA form for company incorporation. You can either pre-reserve the name via RUN (separate step) or use Part A of SPICe+ which also reserves the name.

Is the 20-day window extendable?

No. The 20-day window is fixed. If SPICe+/FiLLiP is not filed in time, the name lapses and you must apply again.
